Ford Repair: 2000 ford expedition, starter solenoid, luck chris

About once a week, my truck will not start.  It isnt the starter, the starter is during over, it just doesnt catch.  about a hour or two later starts right up????

HI Nancy thanks for asking.
I think it may be the starter solenoid, If you hear it spinning but the engine is not turning then the solenoid is not engaging the stater into the flywheel. Unfortunatly the sloneoid is part of the stater motor and is sold as 1 unit, your other alternative is to have it rebuilt,
