Ford Repair: 93 tbird 5.0, oil residue, senors

Question
I have a 93 tbird with a 5.0 it is blowing oil out of some where and we have checked the valve covers and replaced a few other things like senors. It is still blowing oil. It also idles very fast. When you put it in gear it slows down. When in park it won't idle down, if you smack the gas it just idles faster. What could the problem Thank you

Answer
Tammy-

I'd try changing your PCV valve.  The PCV (it stands for positive crankcase ventelation) is a little $3 part that vents excessive pressure from the crankcase area and if it becomes clogged it can have a tendency to suck oil back up through the engine...usually through the intake manifold.  Check your air filter and the tubing leading to the intake...if you find oil residue then it's almost certainly the PCV valve.  Hope this helps.
