Ford Repair: 98 ford ranger A/C trouble, ford ranger xlt, r 134a

i have a 98 ford ranger xlt and my ac needs to be recharged.(AC blows outside tep air )
is this somith i need to take to an auto shop or can i do it myself
and what would i need to buy and where would i look on my truck to recharge it

Air conditoning work is best left to those trained and certified in AC work. It requires special equipment to check for leaks, monitor the system, and provide the correct amount of R-134A so the system works correctly. If your system is empty there may be a leak that will need attention before spending the money to charge it.

Another problem on Explorers and Rangers is with the blend door. If this part fails usually you will only get hot air.
