Ford Repair: trouble codes, crank sensor, cam sensor

Question
I am driving a 96 ford explorer with 4l 6cyl.When driving my truck starts sputtering then stalls. I waited 5 min then will restart go about 1/2 mile then will start all over.
I got the code from the obd 2

320 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction

What does it mean??  Please help.

Answer
Code P0302 indicates something interrupting the rpm signal or disturbing the primary pickup. The cause could be anything from a spark plug or wire to a sensor. Further diagnosis is needed to know just what set the code.

Your engine does not have a distributor, so I would suspect a problem in the crank sensor or cam sensor, although many other things could cause the symptoms you describe and the code. The fact that it stalls and you have to wait means something is getting hot and failing momentarily.
