QuestionMy truck was towed from the street in front of my home last night due to our HOA laws. They are charging $230 to get the car out. Is there a law on how much a tow company can charge in West Palm Beach, Florida?
Answerwell I see two parts to this question you have to look at here...
First of all HOA's have all some strange laws regarding vehicles and parking issues... I would not know what they were without looking at the master agreement with the association...
Second issue is that if it was towed by the police department and authorized by the police department then it would be under any rates which the tow company is contracted to the police for...
As far as I know there are some set fees on the local West Palm Beach law books. Florida Highway Patrol does have contracted rates for towing when they order the tow...

The $ 230.00 actually sounds about right for what I know of rates down in that area, so it could be right... Sorry for not having more specific information which you are asking about..
