Ford Repair: Mesh brake line replace, ford excursion diesel, ford excursion

Question
I have a 2000 Ford Excursion diesel.  Under the drivers side battery there is a, what looks like some sort of brake presure regulator.  The brake line that goes to the passanger side brake has a 6" flex mesh hose between hard brake lines.  it has a hole in it and I was wondering how to remove the mesh part and replace it without replaceing the whole line.  I can't figure out how it is fitted on to the metal portion.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
The only way I know of that might be possible is to find a company that does hydraulic line repair or building of hydraulic lines. I am not sure if such a place would repair or duplicate the line for you. You may have to see if you can order the complete line from Ford. I haven't seen the part you are talking about personally. If it is below the battery the battery acid may have eaten the hole in the line. Brake lines are job-specific and very critical in quality and materials.
