Ford Repair: E7TE head on an older 1968 302 block, water ports, valvetrain

Question
I have pulled the bad original heads off of my engine and have a
pair of rebuilt, ported E7TEs.
What is involved with replacing the older heads with the new
ones?  I know the rockers are different but was wondering what
issues I might run into like rod length or matching water ports.
Any info you might have on making this transition would help, I
have never done a Ford top end before.

Thanks much!

Answer
Michael-

It's really a direct swap for the most part.  Luckily 302 motors haven't really changed much at all since they were introduced.  Any time you swap heads you should check pushrod length and set up the valvetrain accordingly, but aside from that there's nothing to it.  Hope this helps.
