Ford Repair: transmission, manual valve body, little bits and pieces

Question
I have a 2001 Mustang GT with an automatic in it and was wondering if it would be easier and cheaper to put a manual valve body in it or putting a 5sp in it.  And I found a 1998 GT with a 5sp in it and they will sell everything out of it i need for $650 if it will all convert to mine ok?

Answer
Gary-

It would be easier and cheaper to install a manual valve body, but I guess it depends on what you want.  Some people just can't live without having a clutch.  I've honestly never understood it, but then again I've always driven cars with built automatics.  The '98 stuff *should* swap in ok...but a few little bits and pieces may be different from the '01 setups.  Nothing too major.  If you really want to dump the time and money into a 5spd conversion, it's certainly not uncommon or impossible.  Then again, like I said, I've always been partial to a quick shifting automatic with a good converter.  Hope this helps.
