Military Vehicle Repair: injector pump and glow plug problem, brake master cylinder, chilton manual

Question
I paid to get my injector pump rebuilt. The man filled it about half way as he said. Do I need to fill it the rest of the way to get it to work? Secondly the truck sat almost a month while I waited for the injector pump to come back. When I turned the truck on to push it into the garage the wait light did not come on and the buzzer does not work. The Chilton manual does not show the location of the relay for CUCV's but does show something mounted on the block which I do not have. Where is the relay so I can test it?

Answer
You will need to bleed the fuel filter and injector pump when you install it.
I would disconnect the glow plug relay during the bleeding, as you will be cranking the engine a bit.

The glow plug relay is mounted on the firewall under the hood, inboard of the brake master cylinder. Probably nothing like your Chilton.

The controller for the relay is under the dash, above the brake pedal, in an oblong container hanging from the wires.

The civilian version, which is what the Chilton would show, has the relay and controller as a single unit, mounted at the rear of the left head.
