Ford Repair: 97 Fod Ranger 4x4, sohc engine, ford ranger

Question
I have a 97 Ford Ranger 4x4. It idles really rough, when I come to a stop it dies out. I changed the ERG Valve. The diognostic code said that it was my Throttle Control Valve and my #1 & 2 banks are running to lean. Can you tell me where these are located at, and what you think the problem is? Thank you

Answer
First of all, I would rather see the actual codes. Many of the code readers are not very specific about what the code means. Why did you change the EGR valve?

Is this a SOHC engine, or OHV? The SOHC engine had more problems like this than the other engine. For some reason I am thinking the Ranger didn't come with the SOHC.
