Ford Repair: Ford Windstar van, ford windstar van, ford windstar minivan

Question
I am a technician at Gator/Raider Total Car Care in Holly Hill, SC phone number (803) 496-2888.  We have a 1999 Ford Windstar minivan with an electrical problem that cannot be found.  There is a short in the underdash fuse #10 circut.  The circut controls the power sliding doors, instrument cluster along with many other things.  I have narrowed it down to a specific part of the circut of which it goes through the firewall to the (connections are listed) ABS Module (C111), Speed Control Servo (C116), Brake Pressure Switch (C127), A/C Clutch Pressure Cycling Switch (C171) and a dead pin ata junction block behind the throttle body (C100F).  I have eliminated the A/C switch, the ABS Module and the Brake Pressure Switch from being faulty.  This problem is persistant.  When the problem first showed its face I saw smoke (electrical) rise from under the wiper motor by the drivers front strut tower.  I have requested help from the local Ford dealership but the technicians there are as stumped as I.

Answer
Why are you having trouble, sounds like you have narrowed it down quite well. If you saw smoke then I would look in that area for sure. I haven't heard of this particular problem myself, so I have no hot tips to offer you. If you do have a dead short, just keep tracing the circuit until you find the cause.
