Ford Repair: External Termometer Location, hood latch, left hand side

Question
I have installed my overhead console with computer in my 2001 F250 Crew Cab XLT Diesel Automatic 4x4 that did not originally have one (thank you for already telling me where to plug it in!).  Because the truck lacked the thermometer, the temp reads -40.  I bought the thermometer and wiring harness for it, and understand they are supposed to be mounted in the engine compartment somewhere, but I dont know the location for the thermometer OR the plug.  Can you help?

Answer
The ambient temperature sensor is most commonly mounted in front of the radiator, behind the grille. The Ford schematic indicates left front; sometimes they are near or below a headlight, or on the bracket for the hood latch.
The schematic also shows the connector being left hand side of instrument panel, to the left of the steering column. Hope this helps you with this project.
