Ford Repair: Engine diag, ford crown victoria, vacuum leaks

Hi well i try to smog my 1992 ford crown victoria and it faield for high HC so i did a self diagnostic by counting the check engine lights flash and came up with code 214 CID cylender idenification circut faulire what or how would i go about fixing this to stop my check engine light from coming on

The 214 code itself will not cause high HC. That code indicates a problem in the cam sensor, circuits, ignition module, or the PCM. There are other tests to do before replacing parts.

Does the engine run ok? A misfire, stumble, or any thing causing either will increase HC,as well as vacuum leaks.
The 4.6 engine has been notorious for plug wire problems.
