Auto Insurance Claims: judgement awarded, JUDGEMENT AGAINST THEM

Question
I was awarded 10,300 dollars in my auto accident. I was told it would take up to 20 calendar days to appeal the arbtraitor decision. my lawyer said that he haven't heard anything or receive anything either. I guess my question is after the 20 days has passed, and I FILE A JUDGEMENT AGAINST THEM HOW LONG  AFTER THAT WILL A CHECK BE ISSUED

Answer
If you FILE A JUDGEMENT AGAINST THEM IT WILL TAKE AS LONG AS THEY NEED TO WRITE A CHECK... there is no "judgment time." If they are not paying you, you can enforce the judgment by lining property, garnishing wages, etc. They could file bankruptcy and have what you owe be discharged in Federal Court.

If the people that owes you the arbitration award is an insurance company, then your attorney will explain how that process works. Insurance companies are bound by arbitration awards and there are steps to ensure payment.

Good Luck
