Ford Repair: car shaking ,choppy acceleration, electric fuel pumps, v6 mustang

Question
Hi, I have problem with my 1995 v6 mustang. My car started to
shake for second or two when I sit at the stop light (kind of like
car gets shivers) also it has choppy acceleration sometimes. I
changed spark plugs, wires are about 2 years old, engine was
rebilt about 2 years ago. Fuel filter is about 2-3 years old. Do
you have any ideas what could cause this problem?

Thanks

Answer
Does it shake when your foot is on the brake? As you stop, or after sitting thru a stoplight? Could be a vacuum leak, a loose plug wire, idle control valve, or many other things. Does it go away after a few seconds when stopped?

I like to change Ford fuel filters at or before 20,000 miles. For some reason Fords with electric fuel pumps either create or pickup lots of tiny particles that can clog fuel filters. I doubt this is creating your symptoms tho. A badly clogged filter will create a loss of power to a certain extent.
