Ford Repair: ERG,, vacuum regulator, vacuum lines

Question
Hi,

I have a Ford Taurus 2000 3.0 24 valve OHC . At low speeds I exerience a hesitation or hurky jurky motion from car.

As per Chilton manual used vacuum pump on EGR Valve & held at 6lbs. per in. and did not drop.
We checked vacuum lines which looked good.
With light tester there was current to regulator selenoid. I debated on wether to change the regulator selenoid but can't find theback pressure sensor on this engine.
Check engine light was on. The mechanic pulled wires and hoseoff regulator and light went out but later on that day it went back on. Thanks for any insight into this problem.

                                     Yours,
                                       Bob

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I would suggest that you remove the EGR valve and check to make sure it isn't stuck or binding in it's seated position. The DPFE sensor is located:
Differential pressure EGR vacuum regulator engine, RH side, top - 3.0L 4V
Hope this helps,
Erik
