Ford Repair: fuel injector, noid light, compression test

Question
88 t-bird #4 plug is not firing right. Have a real noticeable miss. Changed plugs, wires and cap. All new. Compression tested 140 lbs. Does not smoke. Uses very little oil. When plug is removed it is wet, but cant tell for sure if its gas or oil. I ran injector cleaner thru tank but did not help. Would like to know how to check or eliminate possible injector problem. Thanks, Doug

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Go to a parts store and ask for a noid light..make sure the injector is getting a pulse from the computer. Then use an ohm meter and test the injector against other injector readings.
Also, you did a dry compression test, not a wet compression test......which checkes for failed rings. Add
1-2 squirts of oil to the cylinder and do the compression test.....if the reading increases......rings are Ok. If it only jumps up slightly or not at all.....you have collapsed rings.
