Ford Repair: transmission, manual valve body, model bronco


Question
how ya doin my question is ....my 78 bronco has a c-6 and the transmission is about to go out (slipping when normal temp) if i put a manaual valve body in (shift kit) will this help....also will a c-6 from an early 80's model bronco bolt up......the 80's bronco has a 351w.....i have a 400m ....i mean is the bolt pattern the same

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Slipping is the cause of worn friction and steel plates, fluid cross leaks, or servos and bands being burnt or bad. A manual valve body won't cure the problem.
To tell you the truth..I've got no idea IF a early 80's tranny will bolt up to yours. I would suggest that you have a rebuild done.....might cost a little more than a junk yard one......but it will save you the hassle.
