Ford Repair: brakes, ford taurus, metallic pads

Question
Hi Eric,

You have helped me before so hoping you could offer some advice.  Just had the front brakes changed on my Ford Taurus (back ones were in good shape).  They used higher performance, longer lasting pads (i.e. more metallic).  They also turned the rotors.  The brakes have been squeaking on and off since they did it.  Mostly in the morning and when coming to a stop.  They do not do it all of the time.  Since I live in Florida where it is extremely hot and humid would this have something to do with it?  I know these metallic pads have more of a tendency to squeak.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
There are a few things that you can to do reduce or eleminate the noise:
1. Have them change the front brakes back to the orginal style
2. Have your mechanic lubricate the front pads.

Other than that, the noise is inherrantly associated with the front brakes.
