Ford Repair: 99 expedition abs lights on!!!, vibration problem, abs light

Question
Hi!  I own (well financing still) a ford expdtn. 2wd EB.  Sometimes when im driving the abs light warning sign comes on.  When I turn off my car and turn it on again its gone.  Once in a while it comes back and I have to do the same thing.  Also when Im going on a high speed and brakes suddenly my car is a little shakey when I brake.  I hope its nothing bad and wont cost me an arm and a leg to get it fix.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Erick,
The only way to tell why the ABS light is on is to "pull the codes" from the ABS computer. It takes a special tool only your mechanic has. If you want to take a chance, it is usually the rear ABS sensor that is mounted in the rear end. The part is about $35 and takes about 10 min to change. It has 1 elec. connector and 1 bolt holding it in. (center/top of rear end housing)
The vibration problem is your front rotors. Have them machined and replace the pads if low.
