my son is 250 miles away so I will have to help long distance....driving a 2001 Escape. It will start and rev up to 750-100RPM and after a few seconds die....sound like a fuel filter to you? your help would really be apprecieted.  Ron

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It sounds like either the air hose for the throttle body is disconnected....or it has a bad fuel pump. There are a dew other things that can do this..........but let's start with the basics first. Have him check for fuel pressure, and look over the engine for loose hoses/connections.
