Ford Repair: 1990 ford taurus, exhaust gas oxygen, drain crankcase

Question
How do I replace a oil pan gasket on a ford taurus L V6 3.0.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove oil dipstick, then raise and support vehicle.
On models with low oil level sensor, remove retainer clip at sensor and disconnect sensor electrical connector.
On all models, drain crankcase.
Remove starter motor, then disconnect Exhaust Gas Oxygen (EGO) sensor electrical connector.
Remove head pipe and catalytic converter assembly.
Remove lower engine/flywheel dust cover from converter/flywheel housing.
Remove oil pan to cylinder block and front cover attaching screws, then the oil pan and gasket.

Hope this helps,
Erik
