Ford Repair: brake bleeding, oem pads, vaccum pump

Question
Jeff,
Is there any special tools to bleed the brakes on my 2000 f150 4by4 four wheel disc, truck. I tried a vaccum pump, without much success. The system has not been exposed to air,the pedal just feels spongy.
                                    thanks butch.....

Answer
Hi Butch,
You shouldn't need to bleed the brakes but if you do, you need a pressure bleeder. Make sure the brake pads are good. You should have at least 5mm remaining front and rear. ALSO THEY MUST BE FORD OEM PADS. If you replaced them with some cheap after-market type, replace them with FORD OEM.
