Question - There is no oil in my cooling system and there is no coolant in my oil. That was a problem I thought of andchecked the oil and coolant for signs of a head gasket leak.  Could my thermal sensor cause this same problem?

I have replaced the radiator and the thermostat. The water pump was checked and there was water in the top hose to the water pump. The car still over heats.  The car has developed a rough idle and loses power when the car starts to heat up.  I am at my wits end.  What could causing this?  The car is a 1993 Ford Taurus GL with a 3.8 v6 with multiport injection.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Have you had the cylinder head gaskets check for being cracked? THAT was a huge problem for Ford at one point. Does the coolant level always stay full?
Hope this helps,
Erik

Answer
head gaskets don't always contaminate the oil and vice versa.......what thermal sensor? in your cooling system you have a radiator, thermostat, heater core, ECT sensor for the computer, coolant temp sensor for the gauge, and water pump. Have the computer system checked for fault codes .......and also check for head gasket leaks.
