Ford Repair: ford rust, fender flares, ford f 150

i have a 1989 ford f-150,the cab is just about shot, i love the truck... it is an extended cab with a short box, i want to fix it up. should i drop the money into repairing the rust or would i be able to switch to a stnd. cab and a long bed? because i cant find an extended cab in upper michigan. checked all salvage yards, came up wit nothing. and where should i look for cheaper good looking fender flares, i have a lot of problems that i need answers for, even if you could point me in a good direction that would be great. thank you

p.s. the floor hase been repared twice befor, underneath the driver seat and in the rear.
