Ford Repair: fuel, dual overhead cam, taurus 3

98 ford taurus 3.0 dual overhead cam 24 valve automatic.  after about 300 miles and am going up a hill,  i give the car gas and it seems as if the car is not getting any fuel.  i pull off and shut the car off for about 5 minutes and the car is fine for about another 100 miles and the problem starts again.the service engine light does not come on. do i have an ECM problem or is it a sensor   help

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 With the onset of OBDII systems I would suggest that yu have the system monitored by a garage and diagnosed. It would seem unlikely that you have a sensor problem. It might need a computer re-proggram or update.
