1994 Mercury Sable,3.0 V6.automatic.Problem with the rear brakes locking up.New calipers, pads,.Bled by the book.Wont pull back.Is there a trick to these bracks that I dont know about. They are ABS.If you could help me please. THANKS !
Answer -
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Did you bleed out the ABS pump after you replaced the calipers? There is a special tool used to energize the pump to "force" bleed it. If this isn't done it can cause a problem with lock up. Also, are you getting any ABS codes and are the excitor rings and sensors on the hub clean and not cracked?
Erik  Thanks for your quick respones! There is no sensor in the rear brackes, only the front have the sensors. And no codes for ABS, well the ABS light is not on.This car has disc brackes in the rear with some kind of preasure regulater that limits fluid to the rear brackes unless you apply hard bracking.Could that be the problem ? THANKS AGAIN for your help !

Answer
If there isn't a sensor at the rear brakes, it isn't 4WABS. There has to be a monitoring of ALL of the wheels for an ABS system to work, so the pump/computer will know what to apply and what to reduce as far as brake pressure.
As far as the pressure regulator.....I'm going to guess that you are talking about the spring loaded rod that extend from the torsion link to the rear wheel and then connects to the regulator at the body. Yes, THAT could cause a lock up problem IF it isn't functioning correctly.
Have the system checkd out at a garage for trouble codes.
