Hi Eric,
This truck has a check engine light on, it's a 2.9 with a4ld auto trans, 4x4,88 model.
The code says 54, ACT circuit incomplete, I replaced the ACT sensor, disconnected the battery while installing the new sensor, and the light is still on, the Haynes manual doesn't go into detail regarding this problem, can you give me some advise, I would be most appreciataive.
Thanks Frank

What scan tool are you using to scan the system?

Would you be able to enter what is called a Continuous Monitor Mode (wiggle test)? IF the scanner has that function.......other wise I'll have to guide you thru an analog volt meter set up....which is a lot longer.
Erik
I have preformed a volt/ohn test and it reads code 54, however I just picked up the truck after having the trans replaced and the mechanic said that his machine says that my problem is a sensor that is in the exhaust, I don't know if he knows what he is talking about or not, and by the way I would like to thank you for helping me.

This is a VERY rare occasion where I will ask you for your alternate Email address, and I will scan and send you the volume H manual pages for that code. PLEASE don't give me Email out to any one after your vehicle is fixed. I usually don't give it out.
