Ford Repair: charging system, amp meter, altenator

Question
my 2000 expedition has a new altenator and is still draining the battery down any advice is great.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
You need to check the battery and also check for an electrical system drain. Make sure everything in the car is off when you exit for the night. To check for a drain you'll need an Amp meter. Diconnect one battery cable and connect that meter inbetween the post of the batter and to the cable. Take an Amp reading. Then start removing fuses, one by one and look at the Amp meter after each fuse is removed. When the meter reads at .03A or less you have found the circuit that the drain is on and you can isolate it from there.
Hope this helps,
Erik
