I have a 1976 ford bronco 302 V8 automatic transmission.  It is sluggish and occasionally stalls if press hard on gas pedal.  I have a brand new carb. new electiric fuel pump, new fuel filters.  Also car will continue to back fire upon shutting off the engine after driving.  I believe the timing is off or the carb needs adjusting.  could you give me the proper timing for this  year model engine and any other suggestions. thanks

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 I would suggest that you might look at the timing chain for being loose. The ignition timing is:8* BTDC.........as far as I can tell. There should be an emissions decal under the hood or on the radiator support that tells you this information.
