I think my power steering isn't working.  When I make turns the wheels don't straighten up.  This morning I was driving straight but my steering wheel wasn't.  I had to turn it the opposite way to straighten it out.  It seems like there is "backlash" in the steering.

Also, sometimes when I make sharp turns I hear some kind of grinding noise coming from the front right wheel, but not always.  It sounds like something is trying to engage or something gets caught as the wheel spins and breaks free.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 I would seriously suggest you bring it to a garage ASAP. From what you have told me, it sounds like the 4x4 system is engaging and that isn't safe. Also, it sounds like your front steering and or suspension is at serious risk.
