Ford Repair: clutch replacement, clutch master cylinder, clutch replacement

Question
1995 ranger 4cyl standard
my clutch pedal bottoms out and only slightly engages.  i have huge difficulty getting into reverse(unless car is off) also 1st and second create problems.  the full clutch is very expensive to replace and i was wondering if there was a possibility that just the hydraulics could be fixed?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It is very possible that the hydraulics have gone bad. I would look for a leak....check the clutch master cylinder...inside the vehicle for a fluid leak. Also, inspect that transmission housing.......see if there is fluid leaking or dripping from the bell housing. If it is there...the slave cylinder needs to be replaced.
Hope this helps,
Erik
