Ford Repair: Drive Train, automatic overdrive transmission, ford expedition xlt

Question
I have a 2001 Ford Expedition XLT with a Triton V8 engine and automatic overdrive transmission.  I am experiencing what appears to be transmission slippage at about the 45 - 55 mph range and seems to run smooth above that.  The vehicle has approx. 75,000 miles.  What would be the most likely cause of this problem?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
A few things can cause this:
1. Transmission failure.
2. Low on Fluid
3. 4th gear drive section going or gone bad
4. Burn Apply band
5. Slipping Torque Convertor
6. Clogged Filter
I would suggest that you bring it to the dealership or a transmission shop.
Hope this helps,
Erik
