Ford Repair: 93 Ford Tarus ABS Problem, ford tarus, wheel locks

Question
I have a 93 Ford Taurus GL. The problem with this car is the right rear wheel locks up while driving.

I have had this car in and out of the Ford dealership. They say it is mechanically sound. They say the problem is in the ABS system. The ABS light will come on sometimes and sometimes it will not.

The Ford dealership can not communicate with the ABS module and the main computer. They think there is a bad wire somewhere, but have been unable to find it. I have spent a ton of money on this car trying to get this fixed. They have replaced everything on the right rear and all the speed sensors.

Can I just unhook the ABS box? Will I have normal brakes? The ABS block is located under the hood on the right side fender.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Yes, you can dissconnect the ABS system and have "normal" brakes. But, I would strongly suggest against it. The problem with that is IF, God forbid, you get in to an accident and they inspect your car.....regardless of who's fault it really is.........YOU will be the one getting in trouble because of a car not working properly as it came from the factory.........I'm not a lawyer, but you don't want that to happen to you.
Obviously the problem is still there and hasn't been found or repaired............I would bring it back to the dealership and also, get a lawyer ready. You have paid for a service that hasn't been correctly resolved. Go above the service manager's head and ask to speak to the district rep.
Hope this helps,
Erik
