Ford Repair: Windstar with boiling gas, ford garage, vapor lock

Question
2000 Windstar with long-term problem with restarts before engine has cooled totally down from last drive. Chockes, gasps, wheezes, tries to cut out UNTIL you move forward in Drive. Will do in reverse, just sitting there. Multiple trips to garage--finally got diagnosis that "gas is boiling in the rails", and more than one garage has said it's due to a bad sensor (bad gasoline ruled out long ago, and switching brands did not help). Problem is that they all say that there's no telling which sensor is responsible, you just have to swap them out one by one until problem goes away. Not an economical solution! Any clues? Apparently boiling gas produces vapor in the gas lines, and when you restart before engine cools all the way then the vapor in the lines causes the wheezing and cutting out. Burned out one fuel injector at 84,000, but it may be a coincidence. Now at 86,000, had problem for 50,000 miles. Help!

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Vapor lock is one of the reasons car makers switched to fuel injection...............it doesn't become fuel locked.
I would suggest that you bring you vehicle to a Ford garage and have them look at it. Have you considered the tune up condiditon of the vehicle?
Hope this helps,
Erik
