Ford Repair: 1997 F-150 Starter, starter solenoid, solenoid

Question
The eyelet on the power cable to the starter broke off.  When replacing it I noticed the stud it connects to is spinning free.  Do I have to replace the starter or can I just replace the starter solenoid?  Do I have to remove the starter from the vehicle if only replacing the solenoid?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
No you don't have to replace the whole starter.... BUT.... it might be cheaper to do it that way. You can purchase a solenoid seperately.......and yes, the starter has to be removed to replace it.
Hope this helps,
Erik
