Ford Repair: abs light, ford e150, clubwagon

Question
Hello Erik,
I have a 1991 Ford E150 Clubwagon, has 8 cylinders with a 5.0 engine. Automatic transmission and odometer reading of 87083 miles. Before I go anywhere and spend my hard earned money, I need to know if I can do this on my own. There are a few things going on with my van....my ABS light and brake light stays on and at times it runs really rough. When I crank it, it starts up ok, I allow it to warm up for a few minutes before I drive it. After a while, and this does not happen every time, when I come to a stop...(red light or stop sign)...ideling is very rough and it acts as if it is going to die. Sometimes if I do not press hard on the brakes it will jump as if I have the gas pressed. I keep the oil changed and have bought a fuel filter. Does it need a tune-up? Any info that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
The brakes need to be looked over. IF both lights are on, this means that there is a fault in the system.
Second, I would suggest that you have a garage check the tune up condition of the vehicle and also check the computer system for fault codes.
Hope this helps,
Erik
