Ford Repair: ABS System 1995 Ford Windstar, ford windstar lx, 1995 ford windstar

Question
I have a 1995 Ford Windstar LX with a 3.8 engine and I am having problems with my ABS system because it keeps coming on when I start to come to a stop.  I don't know what we need to do, but the problem started happening when we changed our brake pads recently.  It has never happened before this.  Is there any way to turn the ABS off or anything we can do to fix this problem?  I could use any help I can get, because this is our only vehicle and I am afraid something is going to happen to it.  Thanks so much!

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
What you need to do first is look over the installation of the brake pads. Next, check the computer system for fault codes, and if there are any, fix them. You can not manually turn the ABS system off, it should be able to disengage it by it's self if there is a fault, to give you normal brakes. But I would suggest that you have it repaired ASAP.
Hope this helps,
Erik
