Ford Repair: Brakes, wheel studs, mr mcleod

Question
I have a 74 bronco with a dana 44 and disc brakes. I would like to know the best way to seperate the hub from the disc so that I can have them turned.
How do you get the inner bearing out? It seems that I would need to have this out so that I can repack it.

I have everything disassembled except the above mentioned.

Thank you for your help

Answer
Mr. McLeod,

On the hub part, you usually have 6 or 7 allen screws that need to be removed. Pull the cover off, then you will need to go  to either Advanced Auto or Auto Zone and purchase a special tool, called a spanner lock out wrench, which will loosen the outer lock nut. Then pull out the lock washer and you have an inner lock nut that you will need to use the same tool on. remove and then grab ahold of the whole hub assembly and pull it off the axel. Flip over the whole hub and disc assembly and you will see a seal. If that is bad, now it  the time to replace it. Just pry it up with a screw driver. When you pry that up, your inner bearing will be able to be removed with your fingers. MAKE SURE THAT YOU PAY ATTENTION TO HOW IT CAME OUT! But before you do all that, make sure to visually inspect the inner bearing. If it looks good, just repack and DO NOT the inner seal off, because once you do, it must be replaced with a new seal. This is assuming that you already have the brake caliper off. To separate the hub from the rotor, you will need to punch out all the wheel studs and you will see a crack between the hub and the rotor, you will need to keep prying at it until it comes loose. If you need to know how to  remove the disc caliper, please do not hesitate to contact me again. Hope that this helps and good luck.
