Ford Repair: Steering column, column work, good shape

Question
Can a 2002 Mustang steering column work in a 1994 Mustang.  I know the color of the plastic parts are slightly different, but the dimensions appear to be about the same, and it basically looks the same. Mine was destroyed when my car was broken into, and it has been hard to find one from another 1994 in good shape.  Just wanted to check with someone who knows before I lay down $100 on the wrong part.

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 I wouldn't go swapping parts from year to year. The wiring in your orginal column is different then the one in the 2002, and you don't need an Air-bag deploying in your face. Have a junk yard do a nation wide search........I'm sure that there is one out there for you---and exact match.
