Ford Repair: Ford Ranger 2.3, maf sensor, ford ranger

Question
I have a 1989  Ford Ranger 2.3 manual. THe engine runs but it has been missing. It will come out of in in a certain RPM. ( about 2900 ) Then it runs fine. ( If you throttle it right)
Could it be the MAF sensor? Please help me !

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Yes, a MAF sensor could cause this. BUT, I wouldn't suggest going out and getting one with out testing the vehicle first. What I would suggest is that you rent/borrow a scan tool and check you truck for codes.
Also, make sure that the tune up of the truck is good and in proper order. As well as any Vac. leaks.
Hope this helps,
Erik
