Ford Repair: ratios, 15 inch rims, ford bronco


Question
i have a 78 Ford Bronco w/ a 6.6 400 cubic inch bored .30 over,35x12.5 inch tires w/ 15 inch rims,3.50 gear ratio and a 4 inch suspention lift. whats the best gear ratio to match the engine and tire size and any other helpfull tips about my big bronco?

  While I admittedly don't know much about 4X4s, for something as big and heavy as a Bronco that's sporting 35" tires, I'd go with something in the 3.73-4.10 range...depending on what kind of differentials you're running.  A 400 should make decent torque and power to get the thing moving...the gears would just sort of be icing on the cake.  Hope this helps.
