Ford Repair: O2 sensor, ford crown victoria, malfunction indicator light

Question
I have a 94 ford crown victoria check engine light comes on after driving about 5 miles at highway speed. Where is the o2 sensor located on this car top or underneath? Thanks for your help and time.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I wouldn't just go out and throw O2 sensors at the vehicle before checking it out with a scan tool. There are a few things that can cause the MIL (malfunction indicator light) to come on. Yes, O2's can be one of them, but certainly NOT the only thing.
Also, since you didn't indicate which engine is in the vehicle, I couldn't tell you where the O2's are located. As a general rule, the are in the exhaust stream, meaning in the exhaust system, post and pre catalytic converter.
