Ford Repair: 97 Ford Ranger heating/cooling, resistance increases, ford ranger

Question
97 Ford Ranger with AC - the temperature control switch isn't controlling the heating and cooling, the output is always hot even when the switch is in the cool position.  I have tested the temp control switch and the resistance increases or decreases as the switch is moved so I think it is OK.  What exactly does this switch control and where is it located?
Thanks.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
The temp switch controls a small motor that is located on the top of the evaperator case. If you remove the glove box, you MIGHT be able to see it. If not, you'll have to remove the case to replace the motor. I would recommend that a repair garage do it.
Hope this helps,
Erik
