Ford Repair: i have 1986 f150 it has a5.0..., exhaust gas recirculation valve, fuel milage

i have 1986 f150 it has a5.0 eng the problem is that after you get too goning down the road in it it goes to surging like it is missing or not getting gas propper it does this sometimes when you take off too it does not get fuel milage netter the dummie light dose not come on netter

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
 I would check a few things:
1. Fuel pressure....it should be at 38-41 PSI with the engine running.
2. Check the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve. Make sure it is not stuck closed and that it is getting the proper vac. signal.
3. Even though the Check Engine Light has not come on, still check the computer system for fault codes.
4. Check the engine tune up condition.
