Ford Repair: knocking in ford falcon, 1960 ford falcon, push rods

Question
I'm working on a 1960 Ford Falcon with a 351.  The problem is a knock in the front end or upper part of motor.  The engine still runs smooth.  The knock is definately coming from the top end. I just checked all the push rods and they are all straight.  Was thinking it may be something in the water pump or timing gear area, but not sure. Anythin you recomment I could check?  Thanks so much for your time.
Donnie

Answer
To check for the noise coming from water pump or other belt driven accessory, remove the belt temporarily. If the noise is gone, then it is something in the belt or belt driven accessories.

Noises are hard enough to diagnose normally, on this forum it is next to impossible.
