Ford Repair: 5spd manual to auto swap, auto swap, detroit locker

Question
I have a 92 full size bronco (old forestry truck) with a 302 & 5spd and want to change to automatic.  The only changes to the truck have been headers & a detroit locker in the 8.8 diff.  I was planning on using an aftermarket floor shifter for the auto. What difficulties can I expect?  Is there a perfered auto to use for the swap?  What parts should I remember to get, i.e. certain flywheel so the swap goes smoothly.  Thanks & look forward to your answers, Jim.

Answer
Jim-

I think the easiest and best way to go would be with a C4 transmission.  It's a 3spd (no overdrive), but it's stronger and much easier to set up since it uses a kickdown linkage instead of the throttle valve linkage that you'd find on an AOD (3spd w/ OD).  If memory serves me, Performance Automatic sells a C4 swap for a decent price (it's not cheap, around $2,000 if i remember right, but the transmission is built well and it takes all of the guess work out of piecing parts together).  Hope this helps.
