QuestionThis vehicle has 68K miles on it. The transmission shifts great except when you come to a stop sign or red light it acts like it goes into neutral! You have to put it in park then back down to drive and sometimes that works. Other times I have to shut the car off and try again to get in into gear. Then when it goes its just great. You never know when it will do it, at which time you stop, sometimes its fine others not. Can you help me?

The tramsmission that's in your vehicle is called the AXOD. And from what you've told me, I would first check a few things, but it sounds like it heading for a rebuild.
First check the transmission fluid condition and level. It should be RED, not brown or black, and it should smell "clean", not burnt. (Compare it to a new bottle of transmission fluid. Also, the level should be checked with the car at operateing temperature, on level ground while in Park.
Other then that, I really can't help you, other then to say bring it to a transmission shop.
