Ford Repair: 1989 Mustang, mustang notchback, cylinder car

Question
I have a 1989 mustang notchback origanl 4 cylinder car. Im putting in a 351W anyway my question is. Will a C-6 fit in the transmission tunnel I dont know if the aod is the same dimensions. ALso does this car have the 7.5 or the 8.8 rear.

Thanks

Answer
Travis-

A C6 would make a VERY tight fit.  The 4 cylinder AODs aren't the same as the V8 AODs in terms of size so that's something to keep in mind.  I would try to find a mildly built C4.  It's considerably smaller and will handle just about all the power you can throw at it if built properly.  A C4 won't suck up power like C6s do, either.  The rear in that car is a 7.5" rear.  That'll have to be changed if you're looking for a 351W...but junkyard 8.8"s are incredibly easy to come by cheap these days.  Hope this helps.
