Ford Repair: 2.9 to 4.0 conversion, fuel pumps, wire harness

hey i put a new motor in my 87 ranger it is a 4.0 from a 91 ranger and the wire harness are different i jumped 3 wires and it runs but i wonder if i need to connect up some more wires. i jumped ingition wire with fuel pumps and a relay for coil ingition and a start wire to the solenoid. it runs good but when i put on a code reader no light beeps but the motor sounds like its trying to do the test. because of rpms and stuff.  do you know where i could down load a good schematic of both wire harness's i would greatly appreciate it thanks joe bowar

I'm sorry, I don't have either wiring diagram, and I don't know of anywhere to download them.  If the 4.0L engine is  electronically controlled, I doubt that the processor is compatible.  I would try to find a wiring harness and processor for the '91 4.0L engine, and use it.
